I recently found out that "addons" can only be added as part of a package.

It would be highly useful if addons could function as a stand alone product that can be added to a shopping cart in tandem with the main product that the addon is associated with, kind of like when they asked you in the drive through ' do you want fries with that?' meaning the fries are the addon that can be simply added to the main order in as many quantities as needed. With the way things are now, I have to create a bunch of different packages to anticipate what a customer might want to buy which means I have a lot of packages hanging out in my store.
